Join the Chicago Event Management team as a 2018 Summer/Fall intern. This internship opportunity will start in June and aligns with the planning and execution of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Interns will be expected to work 15 – 25 hours a week and will be compensated for the hours worked.

Producing an event for 40,000 participants requires the support from more than 400 event staff members and 12,000 volunteers. The Internal Programs intern will assist the team as they recruit and prepare individuals associated with the event staff and volunteer programs. Additionally, the intern will help to manage projects associated with the fulfillment of event merchandise and materials.
Ensuring that participants have a positive event experience is an important aspect of Chicago Event Management’s mission. From the point of registration to the moment a runner crosses the finish line, the Participant Services team helps to oversee and manage the customer experience at our events. The intern in this department will help support the team’s efforts in areas including registration, participant programs, charity and community involvement, as well as, customer service. Candidates are encouraged to have an interest in data and relationship management. This internship opportunity may be divided into a Summer and Fall internship based on interest and availability of qualified candidates.
To elevate and enhance our events, the Chicago Event Management team partners with local, national and global brands. The Sponsorship department oversees all aspects of these relationships, including but not limited to, identification of prospective sponsors, negotiating contracts and fulfilling entitlements specific to contracts. The Sponsorship intern will assist with administrative items related to client management, assist with sponsor activations leading up to and during the event and help with the creation of post-event reports.
The Information Technology department is engaged in and responsible technology needs in both the Chicago Event Management office and at our events. The intern in this department would work directly with the Director of IT to assist with general equipment testing and inventory, as well as, help with the preparation of equipment for CEM events. Candidates are encouraged to have experience in general hardware troubleshooting and management.
